Very inexpensive and you don't have to loosen any strings or remove a soundhole pickup. If you do have a pickup just loosen it and slide it toward the bridge. You can't go wrong with these tools.

In my experience, 99% of the time the result is immediate with no waiting and no need to readjust later. If the truss rod nut requires, say, 3/4 of a turn, I'm not going to take 3 days to make the adjustment.

Pretty soon you will understand how the truss rod works. If you have a beater, experiment on that. This is not a big mystery. It would be hard to mess up your guitar if you are working in 1/4 turns or less.
